Romania, 10th at the Junior Rhythmic Euros

               The Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships kick started yesterday in Azerbaidjan´s capital of Baku. Senior Alexandra Piscupescu and juniors Ana Luiza Filiorianu, Andreea Verdeș and Ștefana Popa were there to represent Romania in the competition. The juniors were the first to take the carpet in Baku in the Team Final which started on Friday with the hoop and ball competitions and ended today with ribbon and clubs (the routines performed during this event also counted for qualification to Sunday´s junior event finals).

               The Romanian team – Filiorianu and Verdeș – placed tenth in the junior final, with Russia, Belarus and Azerbaidjan taking over the podium of this competition. The juniors will be back tomorrow for event finals, Ana Luiza making two of the four (hoop and clubs). Here are the girls’ routines from today’s competition:
