17 medals for the Romanian Juniors in Bulgaria

The members of the Rhythmic Gymnastics Junior National Team travelled to Bulgaria last month to attend Varna’s “Prize of Queen Margarita” International Tournament. Laura Aniței, Ștefana Popa (both from Anghel Saligny Iași Club), Denisa Stoian, Livia Harcan, Cesima Nechifor (CSM Ploiești), Denisa Mailat, Alice David and Ana Luiza Filiorianu (Olimpia București) returned home with an impressive number of medals (17).

In the “Benjamins” category, Laura Aniței made the podium of all the three competitions she participated in, winning three silver medals (All-around, no object, rope). She was followed closely by Denisa Stoian, who took home 2 bronze medals (no object, rope). In the following category (Hopes), Romania was represented by National champion at this age category, Denisa  Mailat, who competed alongside Livia Harcan and Cesima Nechifor. Livia made the podium three times in the All-around, no object and hoop events while Denisa won four medals, bringing home the first and only gold medal of the Romanian delegation. In the Junior category, Romania gathered five more medals. Alice David won the bronze medal with her ball routine, while Ana Luiza Filiorianu (photo) was on the podium of all event finals, winning four silver medals. Watch Ana Luiza’s ribbon routine here:
