Mulțumim, Flavius Koczi!

One of the most well known Romanian gymnasts of recent years, Flavius Koczi, has decided to retire from gymnastics after about 19 years dedicated to this sport. He  was part of the elite for seven years and two Olympics, bringing home at least a medal in each European Championship since turning senior in 2006. A specialist on floor and vault, he was highly recognized for this twisting ability and made these skills an important part of his routines.

If we are to go back to the most emotional moment we got to experience with Flavius, we would have to pick the 2009 London World Championship where he shared the podium – and the vault table – with fellow champion Marian Drăgulescu. This would also be his only World medal….

And here is the list of the 11 European medals won by Flavius throughout his careeer, including videos of the three gold routines:

Volos, 2006 (Gold on Pommel Horse and Silver with the team)

Amsterdam, 2007 (Bronze on Pommel Horse)

Lausanne, 2008 (Bronze with the team)

Milan, 2009 (Silver on Vault)

Birmingham, 2010 (Bronze on Vault)

Berlin, 2011 (Gold on Floor and Silver in the All-around)

Montpellier, 2012 (Gold on Vault and Bronze with the team)

Moscow, 2013 (Silver on Vault)
