2013 Worlds: Larisa, 4th in the All-around final

It was a big night for Larisa Iordache, who was taking part in the first World final of her career and hoping to break into the podium in the All-around final after finishing 4th in qualification (where her hand had slipped on bars). And it started really well for her, with a well performed Yurchenko double on vault, an improvement from qualification, and a good bars routine which should have given her confidence heading into her two best events. She really had a medal at hand this time and would probably have won bronze if her favorite event would not have let her down…

Larisa ended her All-around effort with a strong floor performance to place 4th behind Simone Biles, Kyla Ross and Aliya Mustafina. On Sunday, she has two more chances to win her first World medal in the beam and floor finals. Sandra will also be joining her in the latter.

Vault: 15.033 (4)

Uneven Bars: 14.200 (7)

Beam: 13.833 (9)

Floor: 14.700 (2)
