2013 World Ranking: Diana Bulimar, first on floor

After the last World Challenge Cup was held last weekend in Osijek, the International Gymnastics Federation announced the 2013 Individual Apparatus World Rankings based on results from the 6 events that make up the 2013 FIG Individual Apparatus World Cup and World Challenge Cup series. The competitions were held in La Roche sur Yon (FRA), Cottbus (GER), Doha (QTA), Ljubljana (SLO), Anadia (POR) and Osijek (CRO). Romania was represented at 4 of these 6 events.

Diana Bulimar was ranked first on floor, with a total of 105 points, after winning gold in Doha and Portugal and placing second at the French Internationals. She has been so consistent on this event throughout the year, medaling in every competition she attended, that it‘s a pity we cannot see her at this year’s World Championships. She has been replaced, in the meantime, by Ștefania Stănilă. Get well and come back soon, Diana!

Diana is also ranked third on beam (10th in France, 4th in Doha and 3rd in Portugal) with Larisa Iordache placing second here, behind Greece’s Vasiliki Millousi. Larisa competed only at the Doha and Anadia Challenge Cups, winning both competitions. Overall, we have seen her compete only 4 times this year but she won this event in all 4 competitions, including the Moscow Europeans. Here she is in Doha:

Flavius Koczi ranks second on floor, winning both competitions he attended (La Roche sur Yon and Doha). He then placed 4th at Euros on this apparatus and won the recent Nationals Championships.

Also featured in the raking are Cristian Bațagă, Marius Berbecar, Andrei Ursache and Vlad Cotuna. The first two are part of the Romanian team for the Antwerp Worlds together with Flavius Koczi, Andrei Muntean and Ovidiu Buidoșo.
