2013 Rhythmic National Championships for Children and Juniors

More than 100 gymnasts participated in the Rhythmic National Championships for Children and Juniors held in Brașov this past weekend. The girls competed in the team, individual and group events of the two age categories: category IV Juniors (8 – 10 year olds) and children (6 – 8 year olds). As usual, Iași’s Anghel Saligny Club dominated the first category, winning both the team title over CSU Brașov and LPS Bistrița and the Individual All-around competition through Laura Aniței.

Laura, a small gymnasts who surprised us the very first time we saw her at a children competition, dominated category IV, both in qualification and finals. She came away with 4 gold medals (team, All-around, hoop and ribbon) and a silver medal for her rope routine. The gold medal here went to CSM Ploiești’s Denisa Stoian who also won bronze for ribbon. Rebeca Anton, another gymnast who is very familiar with the podiums of her category, won three silver medals this time (team, All-around and hoop).
