Andreea Munteanu, Andreea Iridon, Paula Tudorache and Diana Teodoru (accompanied by coach Lăcrămioara Moldovan) competed yesterday in Chemnitz, Germany, for the USA – GER – ROU Senior and Junior meet. Unfortunately, Romania could not send in a complete team – having only 4 juniors performing there and no seniors. They placed third, nonetheless, with Andreea Iridon’s much awaited first competition of the season (after she missed out on Gymnix for a pretty stupid reason: visa problems).

Andreea Munteanu was the highest scorer of the Romanians yet again and placed second in the Junior All-around following USA´s Bailey Key, who outscored her on all apparatus. It was beam where Andreea shined, earning the only over 14 score of the Romanian team (6.1 difficulty).
Andreea Iridon came in 4th with pretty solid beam and floor routines, a Yurchenko full on vault and two release skills on bars (the apparatus where we all expect good things from her, at least better than how Romanians usually do here): a Hindorf (video) and a Ginger!
Paula Tudorache finished in 7th, her beam routine being the highlight of her meet. She has a very nice pace here and the routine seems to flow. She was not very strong on her other apparatus, though…
Diana Teodoru didn’t do very well today (10th), you could see she is not very experienced internationally and lets the nerves get the best of her. With a bit more experience and hard work, she might get there…
